Volunteer Opportunities

It is our intention at OPUS to continue fostering a space that invites exploration, curiosity and personal reflection as we go about our work of archival preservation, community building and deep research. With that in mind, OPUS’ volunteer program continues to evolve, just as the work of our staff and the opportunities for the exhibition of our collections continue to evolve. OPUS’ volunteers give a gift of vital importance – their time and passion - and we continue to be mindful of ways to make this precious time with us more meaningful. It is through sharing this process with volunteers, be they current or new, that we move forward toward exciting possibilities.

Current Volunteer Projects

  • Scanning of the original images that  Joseph Campbell used to write the 5 volume Historical Atlas of World Mythology
  • Scanning Marija Gimbutas archeological slides from the Paleolithic and Neolithic eras across Europe and the Mediterranean
  • Digitizing thousands of hours of audio taped lectures by Marion Woodman, James Hillman, Christine Downing, Katie Sanford, and others
  • Preservation of incoming (new!) archival material
  • Cataloguing collection materials
  • Assisting with research inquiries by scholars and students
